"From the moment we are born to the moment we die, we must constantly try to improve. It is our obligation as human beings."--Grandmaster Joon Pyo Choi
The Oriental Martial Arts College
(OMAC),
Choong Moo Branch, offers classes in taekwondo, a Korean martial art.
We provide a traditional martial arts program, with students gaining knowledge in:
- Self-defense skills and applications
- Fighting skills and applications
- Forms
- Breaking
- Weapons
- Stretching and breathing
- Meditation
- Taekwondo philosophy and Korean terminology
- Martial arts healing techniques (for advanced students)
We help students use the martial arts as part of a holistic approach to life and
health. Classes include both group and individualized instruction and are geared
to all ages and abilities-children, teens, adults; men and women; and families.
The Choong Moo program is led and primarily taught by Master James S. Cahn, 6th degree black belt,
with the assistance of a strong corps of black belt instructors. Senior Grandmaster
Joon P. Choi, founder and head of the OMAC system, oversees regularly scheduled
rank promotion tests leading to black belt and beyond. Classes are held in the east
gymnasium of Shaker Heights Middle School, on Shaker Boulevard just east of
Warrensville Center Road.
